Content Management

There are so many different platforms available. Drupal, Joomla, Xoops and Wordpress to mention just a few. I’ve tried many. In the constant quest for a working, stable, and fun content management system (CMS), I’ve built entire sites only to find out it wasn’t what i thought or that it’s functionality really didnt meet my needs. I have however found in the last couple of years the environment of Wordpress to be extremely stable and friendly… not to mention versatile. To us who program in php, the advantages are so many. The plathora of plugins available are enormous. I like particularly the ability to configure posting to be done through a simple live writer interface or through email. I have configured sites to accept mu;ltiple email addresses for posting to different categories. I have been able to develop some plugins as well when i couldn’t find what i was looking for. Also, there are so many developers for Wordpress that almost any question has been asked and the answers are out there. So if you don’t even know what you are doing you can find out how to do it. This is an awesome plus. I encourage you to check out Wordpress at http://wordpress.org and play with its features. I am a wordpress developer so if you have any desire to develop something specific thats not readily available please feel free to contact me at steve@purealtar.com. Thanks.
